New York has a mural of Joe, Granada has an entire Plaza in his honour and although London might have a subway unofficially named after him, it was great that the city finally has something like this too – thanks to the initiative of Gary Loveridge and Emma Harrison!

Love the background and the colors but, YAAAAHHHHH!!!!!, what is going on with Joe’s face? Forgive me, but he looks like he’s had a grand mal seizure and suffering from some kind of facial paralysis. And, NO, of course I couldn’t do anything remotely as good as this mural but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the difference between a valiant artistic effort by someone as extremely talented with a brush, as Joe was with a guitar, microphone and notebook. It is better than the one in NYC but, that sure ain’t saying much … that mural features a vision of what Joe would look like if he suffered from an extreme case of hydrocephalis.
